WHAT DO YOU SEE WHEN YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES?
¿ QUÉ VES CUANDO CIERRAS LOS OJOS ?
S O M B R A S
Can things you can't see cast shadows?
What is the shadow of reality? The shadow is nonsense.
Nonsense is the immortal and inseparable brother of supersense.
Understanding is the bridge, but the attempt to explain it is arbitrariness and even murder.
Have you counted the murderers among the scholars?
Primal sense, nonsense, supersense, madness
Sentido primario, sinsentido, supersentido, locura

MY VISION – What I see when I close my eyes
As a self-taught artist my approach to art leads through the world of emotions. Since my literature studies, where I had the chance to dive deep into the world of poetry, literature and philosophy, I understood the power and beauty of the written and spoken word. Reading and creative writing became very early my passion, but I also felt an irresistible pull toward visual expression. What started as sketches and drawings evolved into a deeply personal exploration of painting, where my subconscious became both: muse and medium. Dreams provide the content and the impetus for my work. Each painting begins as a fleeting vision – emotional and ephemeral – that I labor to capture on canvas. These visions are not merely recreated but translated, using color, texture and form to externalize the ineffable. My paintings delve into themes of temporality, duality and the shadowy forces that shape human experience.
Creating, for me, is a process of uncovering and externalizing the intangible – an intuitive process, driven by emotion rather than calculation. When I paint, it feels like a nonstop déjà vu, a moment where control is relinquished and intuition takes over. This state of flow is a form of metamorphosis: with each completed work, I shed the weight of the past, transforming personal experiences into universal reflections. Yet, it is often only weeks or months later that I fully grasp what I have created, a testament to the subconscious depth of my practice. I observe my art as a mirror involving an infinite quest for myself and for the other.
“I finished another artwork today. It’s unusual that the details reminding me of my childhood. It sounds super weird, but while I was painting, I saw myself as a child walking the lines and shapes. It feels like I painted this a million times before...”

After my studies my intellectual pursuits have been as self-directed as my artistic practice. Without formal training, I turned back to literature, philosophy and especially art history to deepen my understanding of art’s capacity to interrogate and transform. Writers like Gaston Bachelard and Carl Gustav Jung have profoundly influenced my thinking, particularly their explorations of dreams, symbols and the unconscious. Similarly, artists such as Louise Bourgeois and Mark Rothko have shaped my understanding of art as a medium for emotional and intellectual dialogue. Through reading, writing and creating, I have sought to bridge the personal and the universal, reflecting on how individual experiences resonate within larger cultural and historical contexts.
